Job Interview
So you created that great cover letter, a fantastic resume, and you just received that anticipated call for a job interview! Okay, now what? If you are one of those people who have not been on an interview for a very long time you may be nervous. Can you honestly remember the last time you had a job interview? Heck for many people it could have been years if not decades! Just think, if it has been 10, 15 or even over 20 years things have changed.
Now a days, that recruiter will look at everything from your appearance, to how you shake their hand, to how you sit and where you put your hands during what will feel like the interview that never ends. This list goes on and on, so are you prepared? No seriously. The person interviewing you could even be old enough to be your son or daughter.
Another thing to consider, have you gotten that job interview in a field that you are familiar with or have you found something that is totally new that you are trying? You will need to be prepared and well versed as to what you are going to say.
One question that may come up is “What happened in your last job?” For you it is obvious what happened, you are no longer there but how are you going to answer that question so you will sound politically correct? Another classic question that is asked, “Talk about a situation you were faced with and how you handled it?” There may be some awkward questions thrown at you so you will need to be ready for everything!
